The Knights of Columbus were founded byFather Michael J. McGivney and some of his parishioners in New Haven, Connecticut in1882. It is chartered as a fraternal benefit society. The Order is still true to its founding principles of charity, unity and fraternity. The Knights offer social, intellectual, and financial, support among members and their families through educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief, public relief works, and insurance.
Minnesota State Council
The Minnesota Knights of Columbus operates under the Supreme Council providing support to local Minnesota Councils. They assist local Council with Exemplifications, membership drives, training programs and insurance. They hold an annual convention at different locations throughout the state.

Catholic Watchmen
